حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ ثنا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ثنا يَعْقُوبُ الْقُمِّيُّ عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
جَاءَ عُمَرُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَلَكْتُ قَالَ «وَمَا أَهْلَكَكَ؟» قَالَ حُوَّلْتُ رَحْلِيَ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئًا حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ {نِسَاؤُكُمْ حَرْثٌ لَكُمْ فَائْتُوا حَرْثَكُمْ أَنَّى شِئْتُمْ} يَقُولُ أَقْبِلْ وَأَدْبِرْ وَاتَّقِ الدَّمَ وَالْحُيَّضَ

✧ Umar came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ and said, “O Messenger of Allah, I am ruined.” He said, “What has ruined you?” He said, “I turned my saddle [i.e., changed position during intercourse].” He did not reply to him until it was revealed: {Your wives are a tilth for you, so come to your tilth as you wish;} he said, “From the front or the back, but avoid the anus and menstruation.”
