حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عِرْقٍ الْحِمْصِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ الضَّحَّاكِ ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ عَنْ ضَمْضَمَ بْنِ زُرْعَةَ عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ عَقْرَبَةَ الْجُهَنِيِّ قَالَ

سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ «مَنْ قَامَ بِخُطْبَةٍ لَا يَلْتَمِسُ بِهَا إِلَّا رِيَاءً وَسُمْعَةٌ وَقَفَهُ اللهُ ﷻ مَوْقِفَ رِيَاءٍ وَسُمْعَةٍ»

✧ I heard the Messenger of God ﷺ say: "Whoever delivers a speech seeking nothing but ostentation and reputation, God ﷻ will make him stand in a position of ostentation and reputation."
