حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَزْوَانَ ثنا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ سَالِمٍ الْأَفْطَسِ عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَظُنُّهُ
عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الرَّجُلُ الْجَنَّةَ سَأَلَ عَنْ أَبَوَيْهِ وَزَوْجَتِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ فَيُقَالُ إِنَّهُمْ لَمْ يَبْلُغُوا دَرَجَتَكَ وعَمَلَكَ فَيَقُولُ يَا رَبِّ قَدْ عَمِلْتُ لِي وَلَهُمْ فَيُؤْمَرُ بإِلْحاقِهِمْ بِهِ وَقَرَأَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ {وَالَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَاتَّبَعَتْهُمْ ذُرِّيَّتُهُمْ بِإِيمَانٍ} إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ

✧ Narrated by the Prophet ﷺ, he said: "When a man enters paradise, he will ask about his parents, his wife, and his children. It will be said to him that they have not reached your level of righteousness and deeds. He will then say, 'O Lord, I have done good for myself and for them.' He will be commanded to join them with him (in paradise). And Ibn Abbas recited the verse: 'And those who believed and their descendants followed them in faith...' until the end of the verse."
