✧ The Prophet ﷺ ransomed the captives of Badr, and the ransom for each one of them was four thousand. ʿUqbah b. Abī Muʿayṭ was killed before the ransom. ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib went to him and executed him in retaliation. He said, 'Who will care for the children, O Muḥammad?' He said, 'The Fire.'
