حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ ثنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ أَنَا شَرِيكٌ عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي زِيَادٍ عَنْ مِقْسَمٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَفَعَهُ قَالَ

«مَا نَقَصَتْ صَدَقَةٌ مِنْ مَالٍ قَطُّ وَمَا مَدَّ عَبْدٌ يَدَهُ بِصَدَقَةٍ إِلَّا أُلْقِيَتْ بِيَدِ اللهِ قَبْلَ أَنْ تَقَعَ فِي يَدِ السَّائِلِ وَلَا فَتْحَ عَبْدٌ بَابَ مَسْأَلَةٍ لَهُ عَنْهَا غِنًى إِلَّا فَتَحَ اللهُ عَلَيْهِ بَابَ فَقْرٍ»

✧ "A donation of money never decreases, nor does a servant extend his hand with a charity except that it falls into the hand of Allah before it reaches the beggar, and a servant does not open a door of asking for something out of wealth except that Allah opens a door of poverty on him."
