حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي الطَّاهِرِ بْنِ السَّرْحِ الْمِصْرِيُّ ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ قَالَا ثنا أَبُو الْأَحْوَصِ ثنا سِمَاكُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَخْرُجَ فِي سَفَرٍ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ اللهُمَّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الضُّبْنَةِ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْكَآبَةِ فِي الْمُنْقَلَبِ اللهُمَّ اقْبِضْ لَنَا الْأَرْضَ وَهَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا السَّفَرَ» فَإِذَا رَجَعَ قَالَ «آيِبُونَ تَائِبُونَ عَابِدُونَ لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ» فَإِذَا دَخَلَ أَهْلُهُ قَالَ «أَوْبًا أَوْبًا لِرَبِّنَا تَوْبًا لَا يُغَادِرُ عَلَيْنَا حَوبًا»

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ intended to set out on a journey, he would say, “O Allah, You are the companion in the journey and the successor over the family. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from difficulty in the journey and sorrow on the return. O Allah, contract the earth for us and make the journey easy for us.” And when he returned, he would say, “Returning, repentant, worshipping, praising our Lord.” And when he entered upon his family, he would say, “A return, a return to our Lord, a repentance that leaves no sin upon us.”
