حَدَّثَنَا جبرونُ بْنُ عِيسَى ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ الْحَفْرِيُّ ثنا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «عَلَيْكُمْ بِالْحُزْنِ فَإِنَّهُ مِفْتَاحُ الْقَلْبِ» قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ كَيْفَ الْحُزْنُ؟ قَالَ «أَجِيعُوا أَنْفُسَكُمْ بِالْجُوعِ وأَظْمِئُوها»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Adhere to sorrow, for it is the key to the heart." They said: "O Messenger of Allah, how is sorrow?" He said: "Make yourselves hungry with hunger and thirsty."
