حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ رَاهَوَيْهِ أَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبَانَ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ

أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَيْسَ فِي الظُّهْرِ وَالْعَصْرِ قِرَاءَةٌ إِلَّا بِأُمِّ الْكِتَابِ فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ «أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ أَنْ نَقْرَأَ وَقَدْ بَلَّغَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ رِسَالَاتِ رَبِّهِ»

Translation

✧ He said, “There is no recitation in the Zuhr and ʿAsr prayers except the Opening of the Book.” Ibn ʿAbbas said, “The Messenger of God ﷺ commanded us to recite, and the Messenger of God ﷺ indeed conveyed what was sent down to him from the messages of his Lord.”
