حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلَانَ ثنا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ مُوسَى عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ عَنِ الْحَكَمِ بْنِ أَبَانَ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ

أَتَى رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ فَقَالَ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ وَلَمْ تَحُجَّ وَلَمْ تُوصِ أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهَا؟ قَالَ «أَرَأَيْتَ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّكِ دَيْنٌ فَقَضَيْتَهُ؟»

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said, “My mother died without performing Hajj and without leaving a will. Should I perform Hajj on her behalf?” He said, “Tell me, if your mother had a debt and you paid it off?”
