حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَضْرَمِيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبَانَ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ مَرْثَدٍ عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ بُرَيْدَةَ عَنْ أَبِيهِ ؓ قَالَ

كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِذَا خَرَجَ إِلَى السُّوقِ قَالَ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ هَذَا السُّوقِ وَخَيْرِ مَا فِيهَا وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا فِيهَا اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ أَنْ أُصِيبَ فِيهَا يَمِينًا فَاجِرَةً أَوْ صَفْقَةً خَاسِرَةً»

Translation

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ went out to the market, he would say: “O Allah, I ask You for the good of this market and the good of what is in it, and I seek refuge with You from its evil and the evil of what is in it. O Allah, I seek refuge with You from incurring a false oath or a losing deal in it.”
