حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا خَالِدٌ عَنْ حُسَيْنٍ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ حَفْصٍ السَّدُوسِيُّ ثنا عَاصِمُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ثنا أَبِي عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ الرَّحَبِيِّ وَهُوَ الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ إِذَا هَاجَتْ رِيحٌ اسْتَقْبَلَها بِوَجْهِهِ وَجَثَا عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَمَدَّ بِيَدَيْهِ وَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذِهِ الرِّيحِ وَخَيْرَ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهَا وَشَرِّ مَا أُرْسِلَتْ بِهِ اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا رَحْمَةً وَلَا تَجْعَلْهَا عَذَابًا اللهُمَّ اجْعَلْهَا رِيَاحًا وَلَا تَجْعَلْهَا رِيحًا»

✧ When the wind blew, the Prophet ﷺ would face it, kneel down, stretch out his hands, and say: “O God, I ask You for the good of this wind and the good of what it was sent with, and I seek refuge in You from its evil and the evil of what it was sent with. O God, make it a mercy and do not make it a punishment. O God, make it winds and do not make it a wind.”
