حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ

ثنا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ «كُتِبَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ لَا يَفِرَّ عَشْرٌ مِنْ مائتينِ ثُمَّ خُفِّفَ عَنْهُمْ» فَقَالَ {الْآنَ خَفَّفَ اللهُ عَنْكُمْ وَعَلِمَ أَنَّ فِيكُمْ ضَعْفًا} الْآيَةَ فَكُتِبَ «أَنْ لَا يَفِرَّ الْمِائَةُ مِنَ الْمِائَتَيْنِ»

✧ Al-Qaʿnabī narrated to us; Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah narrated to us, from ʿAmr b. Dīnār, from Ibn ʿAbbās, who said: "It was prescribed for them that ten should not flee from two hundred. Then it was lightened for them," and he recited: "Now Allah has lightened [your burden] for you, and He knows that there is weakness among you" (8:66). So it was prescribed "that one hundred should not flee from two hundred."
