حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْقُرْمُطيُّ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْهَرَوِيُّ ثنا أَبُو ضَمْرَةَ عَنِ ابْنِ سَمْعَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ سَابِطٍ قَالَ قَالَ
لِي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «لَعَلَّكَ أَنْ تَبْقَى بَعْدِي حَتَّى تُدْرِكَ قَوْمًا يُكَذِّبُونَ بِقَدَرِ اللهِ الذُّنُوبَ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ اشْتَقُّوا كَلَامَهِمْ ذَلِكَ مِنَ النَّصْرَانِيَّةِ فَإِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فابْرءُوا إِلَى اللهِ عَنْهُمْ» فَكَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَرْفَعُ يَدَيْهِ وَيَقُولُ «اللهُمَّ إِنِّي أَبْرَأُ إِلَيْكَ مِنْهُمْ كَمَا أَمَرَ نَبِيُّكَ ﷺ»

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to me: “Perhaps you will remain after me until you meet a people who deny Allah’s decree and attribute sins to His servants. They derived their speech from Christianity. When that happens, disassociate yourselves from them before Allah.” Ibn ʿAbbās would raise his hands and say: “O Allah, I disassociate myself from them before You, as Your Prophet ﷺ commanded.”
