✧ After the takbir and after saying “I have turned my face toward Him who originated the heavens and the earth as a ḥanīf, a Muslim,” the Messenger of God ﷺ would say: “O God, to You belongs praise. You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and all within them. You are the Truth, Your promise is true, the meeting with You is true, Paradise is true, the Fire is true, and the Hour is true. O God, to You I have submitted, in You I have believed, upon You I have relied, to You I have turned, with You I have contended, and to You I have made judgment, so forgive me for what I have sent ahead and what I have left behind, what I have concealed and what I have made public. O God, You are my God; there is no god but You.” Then after this the Messenger of God ﷺ would recite.
