حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ النَّسَائِيُّ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ثنا مُفَضَّلُ بْنُ مُهَلْهَلٍ عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ
قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ فَتْحِ مَكَّةَ «إِنَّ هَذَا الْبَلَدَ حَرَامٌ حَرَّمَهُ اللهُ وَلَمْ يُحِلَّ فِيهِ الْقَتْلَ لِأَحَدٍ قَبْلِي وَأُحِلَّتْ لِي فَهِي حَرَامٌ بِحُرْمَةِ اللهِ»

✧ The Messenger of God ﷺ said on the day of the conquest of Makkah: “This city is sacred; God made it sacred, and killing was not made lawful in it for anyone before me, but it was made lawful for me, so it is sacred by God's sanctity.”
