حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ ثنا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ ثنا حَجَّاجٌ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ وَقَالَ ابْنُ رَجَاءٍ أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَلْحَةَ عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ
أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ رَجُلٌ قَدْ خَضَبَ بِالْحِنَّاءِ فَقَالَ «مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا» ثُمَّ مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ آخَرُ وَقَدْ خَضَبَ بِالْحِنَّاءِ وَالْكَتَمِ فَقَالَ «مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا» ثُمَّ مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ آخَرُ وَقَدْ خَضَبَ بِالصُّفْرَةِ فَقَالَ «هَذَا أَحْسَنُ مِنْ هَذَا كُلِّهِ» وَكَانَ طَاوُسٌ يَخْضِبُ بِالصُّفْرَةِ

✧ The Prophet ﷺ passed by a man who had dyed (his beard) with henna and said, "How good this is." Then another passed by him who had dyed with henna and katam, and he said, "How good this is." Then another passed by him who had dyed with saffron, and he said, "This is better than all of that." And Tawus used to dye with saffron.
