حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي السَّرِيِّ الْعَسْقَلَانِيُّ ثنا مُعْتَمِرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ أَبِي إِسْمَاعِيلَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ عَنْ طَاوُسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ قَالَ
سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قُلْتُ خَيْلٌ مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ وَقَعَتْ عَلَى قَوْمٍ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ فَقَاتَلُوهُمْ وَقَتَلُوا أَبْنَاءَهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «هُمْ مَعَ آبَائِهِمْ»

✧ I asked the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, I said: "Horses belonging to the Muslims attacked a people among the polytheists, and they fought them and killed their children." The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "They are with their fathers."
