حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى ثنا خَلَّادُ بْنُ يَحْيَى ثنا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ قَالَ قَالَ
ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَلَا أُرِيَكُمْ كَيْفَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَتَوَضَّأُ؟ فَدَعَا بِإِنَاءٍ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَاغْتَرَفَ غَرْفَةً فَمَضْمَضَ وَاسْتَنْشَقَ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ أُخْرَى فَجَمَعَ بِهَا يَدَيْهِ فَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثُمَّ أَخَذَ أُخْرَى فَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُمْنَى ثُمَّ اغْتَرَفَ غَرْفَةً أُخْرَى فَغَسَلَ يَدَهُ الْيُسْرَى ثُمَّ قَبَضَ قَبْضَةً مِنَ الْمَاءِ ثُمَّ خَفَضَ يَدَهُ فَمَسَحَ بِهَا رَأْسَهُ وَأُذُنَيْهِ ثُمَّ اغْتَرَفَ غَرْفَةً أُخْرَى فَرَشَّ عَلَى رِجْلَيْهِ وَفِيهِمَا النَّعْلُ وَالْيُسْرَى مِثْلُ ذَلِكَ وَمَسَحَ بِأَسْفَلِ النَّعْلَيْنِ ثُمَّ قَالَ هَكَذَا

✧ Ibn Abbas said: Shall I show you how Allah’s Messenger ﷺ used to perform ablution? He called for a vessel containing water, scooped a handful, and rinsed his mouth and nose. Then he took another handful, joined his hands with it, and washed his face. Then he took another and washed his right hand. Then he scooped another handful and washed his left hand. Then he took a handful of water, lowered his hand, and wiped his head and ears with it. Then he scooped another handful and sprinkled it on his feet while he had sandals on, and the left likewise, and he wiped the bottom of the sandals. Then he said, “Like this.”
