حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حُصَيْنٍ الْقَاضِي وَالْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ التُّسْتَرِيُّ قَالَا ثنا يَحْيَى الْحِمَّانِيُّ ثنا أَيُّوبُ بْنُ يَسَارٍ ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ عَنْ جَابِرٍ حَدَّثَنِي بِلَالٌ الْمُؤَذِّنُ قَالَ

أَذَّنْتُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ بَارِدَةٍ فَلَمْ يَأْتِ أَحَدٌ ثُمَّ نَادَيْتُ فَلَمْ يَأْتِ أَحَدٌ ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «مَا لَهُمْ؟» فَقُلْتُ مَنَعَهُمُ الْبَرْدُ فَقَالَ «اللهُمَّ احْسُرْ عَنْهُمُ الْبَرْدَ» فَقَالَ بِلَالٌ فَأَشْهَدُ أَنِّي رَأَيْتُهُمْ يَتَرَوَّحُونَ فِي الصُّبْحِ مِنَ الْحَرِّ

✧ I called the adhān on a cold night, and no one came; then I called again, and no one came—three times. The Prophet ﷺ said, "What is wrong with them?" I said, "The cold kept them away." He said, "O Allah, remove the cold from them." Bilāl said, "And I bear witness that I saw them fanning themselves in the morning because of the heat."
