حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ حَنْبَلٍ حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ مَعِينٍ ثنا وَهْبُ بْنُ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ
دَخَلَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ يَوْمَ الْفَتْحِ وَعَلَى الْكَعْبَةِ ثَلَاثُمِائَةِ صَنَمٍ وَسِتُّونَ صَنَمًا قَدْ شَدَّ لَهُمْ إِبْلِيسُ أَقْدَامَهُمْ بِالرَّصَاصِ فَجَاءَ وَمَعَهُ قَضِيبُهُ فَجَعَلَ يَهْوِي بِهِ إِلَى كُلِّ صَنَمٍ مِنْهَا فَيَخِرُّ لِوَجْهِهِ وَيَقُولُ «جَاءَ الْحَقُّ وَزَهَقَ الْبَاطِلُ إِنَّ الْبَاطِلَ كَانَ زَهُوقًا» حَتَّى أَمَرَّ بِهِ عَلَيْهَا كُلِّهَا

✧ On the day of the conquest, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered while there were three hundred and sixty idols on the Kaʿbah; Iblis had fastened their feet with lead. He came with his staff and began striking each idol with it, and it would fall on its face, and he would say, “Truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Indeed falsehood is bound to vanish,” until he had passed by all of them.
