حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَزَّارُ ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا الْأَنْصَارِيُّ ثنا هَارُونُ بْنُ عَنْتَرَةَ عَنْ زَاذَانَ قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَقَدْ سَبَقَ إِلَى مَجْلِسِهِ أَصْحَابُ الْخَزِّ وَالدِّيبَاجِ فَقُلْتُ أَدْنَيْتَ النَّاسَ وَأَقْصَيْتَنِي فَقَالَ
لِي ادْنُ فَأَدْنَانِي حَتَّى أَقْعَدَنِي عَلَى بِسَاطِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ إِنَّهُ يَكُونُ لِلْوَالِدَيْنِ عَلَى وَلَدِهِمَا دَيْنٌ فَإِذَا كَانَ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ يَتَعَلَّقَانِ بِهِ فَيَقُولُ أَنَا وَلَدُكُمَا فَيَوَدَّانِ أَوْ يَتَمَنَّيَانِ لَوْ كَانَ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ

✧ He said to me: "Come closer," so he brought me close until he seated me on his carpet, then he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say: "Parents will have a debt owed to them by their child, and on the Day of Resurrection they will cling to him and he will say: I am your child; then they would wish, or they will desire, that he had been more than that."
