حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ أَبِي خَيْثَمَةَ ثنا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ثنا عُبَيْدُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
جَاءَ يَهُودِيٌّ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فَقَالَ نِعْمَ الْأُمَّةُ أُمَّتُكَ لَوْلَا أَنَّهُمْ يَعْدِلُونَ قَالَ «كَيْفَ يَعْدِلُونَ؟» قَالَ يَقُولُونَ مَا شَاءَ اللهُ وَشِئْتَ قَالَ إِنَّهُ لَيَقُولُ قَوْلًا قُولُوا مَا شَاءَ اللهُ ثُمَّ شِئْتَ

✧ A Jew came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: How excellent a community is your community, were it not that they associate equals. He said: “How do they associate equals?” He said: They say, “What God wills and you will.” He said: “He is saying something. Say: What God wills, then you will.”
