حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْأَسْفَاطِيُّ ثنا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ثنا أَبَانُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ
أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ بِئْسَمَا لِأَحَدِكُمْ أَنْ يَقُولَ نَسِيتُ آيَةَ كَيْتَ وَكَيْتَ بَلْ هُوَ نُسِّيَ تَعَاهَدُوا الْقُرْآنَ؛ فَإِنَّهُ وَحْشِيٌّ وَلَهُوَ أَشَدُّ تَفَصِّيًا مِنْ صُدُورِ الرِّجَالِ مِنَ الْإِبِلِ مِنْ عُقُلِهَا

✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “How bad it is for one of you to say, ‘I forgot a verse, such-and-such,’ but rather he was made to forget. Keep reviewing the Quran, for it is wild and flees more swiftly from the chests of men than camels from their hobbles.”
