✧ The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “The people before you, when one of them committed a sin, the one who forbade him would forbid him as a mere excuse. Then the next day, he would sit with him, eat with him, and drink with him, as if he had not seen him commit the sin yesterday. When Allah saw that from them, He struck their hearts one upon another, then He cursed them on the tongue of their Prophet Dawud and Isa son of Maryam. That was because they disobeyed and transgressed. By the One in whose hand is the soul of Muhammad, you must enjoin good and forbid evil, and you must seize the hands of the wrongdoer and bend him to the truth completely, or Allah will strike your hearts one upon another, then He will curse you as He cursed them.” Khalaf said: “ta'tirunahu” means “you subdue him.”
