حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ زُهَيْرٍ التُّسْتَرِيُّ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ثنا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي غَارٍ فَخَرَجَتْ حَيَّةٌ فَقَالَ «اقْتُلُوهَا» فَسَبَقَتْنَا وَقَالَ «وُقِيَتْ شَرَّكُمْ كَمَا وُقِيتُمْ شَرَّهَا»

✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ in a cave when a snake came out. He said, "Kill it," but it outran us, and he said, "It was protected from your evil just as you were protected from its evil."
