حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ سَلْمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ثنا سَهْلُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ ثنا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنِ الْأَسْوَدِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ فِي غَارٍ بِمِنًى فَوَثَبَتْ عَلَيْنَا حَيَّةٌ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «اقْتُلُوهَا» فَابْتَدَرْنَاهَا فَسَبَقَتْنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ «وُقِيَتْ شَرَّكُمْ كَمَا وُقِيتُمْ شَرَّهَا»

✧ We were with the Prophet ﷺ in a cave at Mina when a snake sprang upon us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Kill it." We rushed toward it, but it outran us. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "It was protected from your evil just as you were protected from its evil."
