حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ثنا مُسَدَّدٌ ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ قَالَ صَلَّى عُثْمَانُ بِمِنًى أَرْبَعًا فَقَالَ
عَبْدُ اللهِ صَلَّيْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ وَمَعَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ وَمَعَ عُمَرَ رَكْعَتَيْنِ ثُمَّ تَفَرَّقَتْ بِكُمُ الطُّرُقُ فَلَوَدِدْتُ أَنَّ لِي بِأَرْبَعِ رَكَعَاتٍ رَكْعَتَيْنِ مُتَقَبَّلَتَيْنِ

✧ Abdullah [Ibn Mas'ud] said: I prayed with the Prophet ﷺ and with Abu Bakr two rak'ahs, and with Umar two rak'ahs. Then the paths diverged with you. Would that I had, for four rak'ahs, two accepted rak'ahs.
