حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْكَشِّيُّ وَيُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي قَالَا ثنا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ أنا شُعْبَةُ عَنْ عَاصِمٍ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
أَتَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ وَهُوَ يُصَلِّي فَسَلَّمْتُ عَلَيْهِ فَلَمْ يَرُدَّ عَلَيَّ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلَاتَهُ قَالَ «إِنَّ اللهَ ﷻ يُحْدِثُ لِنَبِيِّهِ مَا شَاءَ وَإِنَّهُ مِمَّا أَحْدَثَ لَهُ أَنْ لَا تَكَلَّمُوا فِي الصَّلَاةِ»

✧ I came to the Prophet ﷺ while he was praying and greeted him, but he did not respond to me. When he finished his prayer, he said: 'Indeed, God ﷻ brings about for His Prophet whatever He wills, and one of the things He has brought about for him is that you should not talk during the prayer.'
