حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الْحُلْوَانِيُّ ثنا الْفَيْضُ بْنُ وَثِيقٍ الثَّقَفِيُّ ثنا جَرِيرٌ عَنْ مُغِيرَةَ عَنْ وَاصِلِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ
عَنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ ﷺ قَالَ «لَوْ كُنْتُ مُتَّخِذًا خَلِيلًا لَاتَّخَذْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ خَلِيلًا وَلَكِنَّ صَاحِبَكُمْ خَلِيلُ اللهِ»
Translation

✧ From the Messenger of God ﷺ: “If I were to take an intimate friend, I would take Abu Bakr as an intimate friend, but your companion is the intimate friend of God.”
