حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنْبَاعِ رَوْحُ بْنُ الْفَرَجٍ ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ قَالَ §تُوُفِّيَ بِلَالٌ مَوْلَى أَبِي بَكْرٍ

وَيُقَالُ إِنَّهُ تِرْبُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ؓ بِدِمَشْقَ فِي الطَّاعُونِ وَدُفِنَ عِنْدَ بَابِ الصَّغِيرِ وَيُكَنَّى أَبَا عَبْدِ اللهِ فِي سَنَةِ سَبْعٍ أَوْ ثَمَانَ عَشْرَةَ وَهُوَ مِنْ مُوَلَّدِي السَّرَاةِ وَيُقَالُ بِلَالٌ يُكَنَّى أَبَا عَمْرٍو

Translation

✧ It is said that he was the contemporary of Abu Bakr ؓ in Damascus during the plague and was buried near Bab al-Saghir, and his kunya is Abu Abdullah, in the year seventeen or eighteen. He was among those born in al-Sarat. It is also said that Bilal was given the kunya Abu Amr.
