حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ثنا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ثنا سَلَّامُ بْنُ مِسْكِينٍ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ قَتَادَةَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ صَاحِبٍ لَهُ عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنِ قَيْسٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ قَالَ
بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ إِذْ سَمِعْنَا مُنَادِيًا يُنَادِي اللهُ أَكْبَرُ اللهُ أَكْبَرُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ «عَلَى الْفِطْرَةِ» ثُمَّ قَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللهُ قَالَ «خَرَجَ بِهَا مِنَ النَّارِ» فَابْتَدَرْنَا فَإِذَا رَاعٍ فِي شَاءٍ لَهُ فَحَضَرَتْهُ الصَّلَاةُ فَنَادَى بِهَا

✧ While we were with the Prophet ﷺ, we heard a caller calling out: Allāhu akbar, Allāhu akbar. The Prophet ﷺ said, “Upon the natural disposition.” Then he said, “I bear witness that there is no god but Allāh.” He said, “He has brought it out of the Fire.” So we hurried to him and found a shepherd among his sheep, and prayer time had arrived, so he called it out.
