machine translationI asked my father about a hadith that Ibn Wahb narrated from Mālik, from ʿAbd al-Karīm Abū Umayyah, from a man, from his father, from Ibn Masʿūd, from the Prophet ﷺ, who said: "Regret is repentance." My father said: It is only ʿAbd al-Karīm, from Ziyād b. al-Jarrāḥ, from ʿAbdullāh b. Maʿqil, who said: I entered with my father upon Ibn Masʿūd, and I heard him say, from the Prophet ﷺ: "Regret is repentance."

Saʿīd, and those who followed them, from ʿAbd al-Karīm, from Ziyād, from Ibn Maʿqil, that he was with his father at Ibn Masʿūd's, and heard him say, from the Prophet ﷺ, as a raised report (marfūʿ).
