حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ شُجَاعٍ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ أَبِي نَجِيحٍ، سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللهِ بْنَ كَثِيرٍ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي الْمِنْهَالِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ؓ:

أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ قَدِمَ الْمَدِينَةَ وَهُمْ يُسْلِفُونَ فِي الطَّعَامِ وَالتَّمْرِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: مَنْ أَسْلَفَ فَلْيُسْلِفْ إِلَى أَجَلٍ مُسَمًّى وَكَيْلٍ مَعْلُومٍ

✧ When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Madinah, the people were giving advance payments for grain and dates. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever gives an advance payment, let him give it for a specified term and a known measure.”
