حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ، ابْنُ بِنْتِ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَبُو غَالِبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يُوسُفَ الزِّمِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الرَّقِّيُّ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ السَّخْتِيَانِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلَابَةَ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ الْجَرْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ؓ:
أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ ﷺ، فَاعْتَرَفَتْ بِالزِّنَا، وَكَانَتْ حَامِلًا، فَأَخَّرَهَا رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ حَتَّى وَضَعَتْ، ثُمَّ أَمَرَهَا فَشُدَّتْ عَلَيْهَا ثِيَابُهَا، ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِرَجْمِهَا، ثُمَّ صَلَّى عَلَيْهَا، فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ: أَتُصَلِّي عَلَيْهَا وَقَدْ زَنَتْ وَرَجَمْتَهَا ؟ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: لَقَدْ تَابَتْ تَوْبَةً لَوْ تَابَ بِهَا سَبْعُونَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْمَدِينَةِ لَقُبِلَ مِنْهُمْ، هَلْ وَجَدْتَ أَفْضَلَ أَنْ جَادَتْ بِنَفْسِهَا ؟

✧ A woman came to the Prophet ﷺ and confessed to adultery, and she was pregnant. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ delayed her until she gave birth, then he ordered her and her garments were fastened tightly around her, then he ordered her to be stoned, then he prayed over her. A man said to him: You pray over her when she committed adultery and you stoned her? The Prophet ﷺ said: She has repented with such a repentance that if seventy of the people of Madinah were to repent with it, it would be accepted from them. Have you found anything better than her giving her own life?

machine translationAl-Ṭabarānī narrated it in al-Muʿjam al-Ṣaghīr and al-Awsaṭ from his shaykh ʿAlī b. Aḥmad b. al-Naḍr, whom al-Dāraquṭnī declared weak (ḍaʿīf). Aḥmad b. Kāmil al-Qāḍī said: "I do not know of him being criticized in ḥadīth." The rest of its narrators are narrators of the Ṣaḥīḥ.
