✧ The Lote Tree of the Utmost Boundary was raised up to me, and there were four rivers: two visible rivers and two hidden rivers. As for the two visible ones, they are the Nile and the Euphrates; as for the two hidden ones, they are two rivers in Paradise. And I was brought three cups: a cup containing milk, a cup containing honey, and a cup containing wine. I took the one containing milk and drank, and it was said: You have attained the primordial nature—you and your community.

machine translationAl-Zuhrī narrates it from Anas; ʿUqayl and Yūnus related it from him. There is disagreement about Yūnus: Abū Ḍamrah said, from Yūnus, from Abū, and I think that "Dharr" dropped out for him, so he made it from Ubayy b. Kaʿb and was mistaken in it. Qatādah also narrated this hadith from Anas b. Mālik, from Mālik b. Ṣaʿṣaʿah, and he brought it in full. Shuʿbah narrated part of it from Qatādah, from Anas, from the Prophet ﷺ, the story of the two rivers; Ibrāhīm b. Ṭahmān related it from Shuʿbah. It seems that all the accounts are sound, because their narrators are reliable (athbāt).
