حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ الْعَوَّامِ الْوَاسِطِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ الْحِمَّانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ:

فِي قَوْلِ اللهِ - عَزَّ وَجَلَّ - وَشَاهِدٍ وَمَشْهُودٍ قَالَ: الشَّاهِدُ جَدِّي رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ وَالْمَشْهُودُ يَوْمُ الْقِيَامَةِ، ثُمَّ تَلَا هَذِهِ الْآيَةَ إِنَّا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ شَاهِدًا وَمُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا، وَتَلَا ذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَجْمُوعٌ لَهُ النَّاسُ وَذَلِكَ يَوْمٌ مَشْهُودٌ

✧ Regarding God’s saying – mighty and glorious is He – “By the witness and the witnessed,” he said: “The witness is my grandfather, the Messenger of God ﷺ, and the witnessed is the Day of Resurrection.” Then he recited this verse: “Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bearer of good tidings and a warner,” and he recited: “That is a day for which mankind will be gathered, and that is a day witnessed.”
