حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ الْفَرَجِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الْبَجَلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ مَرْزُوقٍ عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
مَنْ قَضَى نَهْمَتَهُ فِي الدُّنْيَا حِيلَ بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ شَهْوَتِهِ فِي الْآخِرَةِ، وَمَنْ مَدَّ عَيْنَيْهِ إِلَى زِينَةِ الْمُتْرَفِينَ كَانَ مَهِينًا فِي مَلَكُوتِ السَّمَاءِ، وَمَنْ صَبَرَ عَلَى الْقُوتِ الشَّدِيدِ صَبْرًا جَمِيلًا أَسْكَنَهُ اللهُ مِنَ الْفِرْدَوْسِ حَيْثُ شَاءَ
Translation

✧ Whoever fulfills his desire in this world, a barrier is placed between him and his lust in the Hereafter. Whoever stretches his eyes toward the adornment of the luxurious will be despised in the kingdom of heaven. Whoever patiently endures severe subsistence with beautiful patience, God will settle him in al-Firdaws wherever He wills.
