✧ Ahmad b. Mas'ud al-Maqdisi

وَبِهِ: حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ. عَنْ جُوَيْرِيَةَ زَوْجِ رَسُولِ اللهِ - ﷺ أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ:

يَا نَبِيَّ اللهِ، أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أُعْتِقَ هَذَا الْغُلَامَ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: بَلْ أَعْطِهِ بَعْضَ خَالَاتِكِ اللَّوَاتِي فِي الْأَعْرَابِ، يَرْعَى عَلَيْهِنَّ، فَإِنَّهُ أَعْظَمُ لِأَجْرِكِ

Translation

✧ O Prophet of Allah, I wanted to free this slave boy. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: Rather, give him to some of your maternal aunts who are among the Bedouins, so that he may tend livestock for them, for that is greater in reward for you.
