حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَلُّولٍ، نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ الْمُقْرِئُ، ثَنَا حَيْوَةُ بْنُ شُرَيْحٍ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الْخَوْلَانِيِّ، أَنَّ الْوَلِيدَ بْنَ قَيْسٍ التُّجِيبِيَّ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:

يَكُونُ خَلْفٌ مِنْ بَعْدِ سِتِّينَ سَنَةً، أَضَاعُوا الصَّلَاةَ، وَاتَّبَعُوا الشَّهَوَاتِ، فَسَوْفَ يَلْقَوْنَ غَيًّا، ثُمَّ يَكُونُ خَلْفٌ يَقْرَؤُونَ الْقُرْآنَ لَا يُجَاوِزُ تَرَاقِيَهُمْ، وَيَقْرَأُ الْقُرْآنَ ثَلَاثَةٌ: مُؤْمِنٌ، وَمُنَافِقٌ، وَفَاجِرٌ

✧ There will come a generation after sixty years who will neglect prayer and follow desires; they will meet with ruin. Then there will come a generation who recite the Quran but it does not go beyond their throats. Three types of people recite the Quran: a believer, a hypocrite, and a wicked person.
