✧ About terrors that he saw at night that prevented him from the night prayer. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: O Khalid b. al-Walid, shall I not teach you words that you say? You will not say them three times except that Allah removes that from you. He said: Yes, O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be your ransom, for I complained of that to you only hoping for this from you. He said: Say: I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from His wrath, His punishment, the evil of His servants, from the whisperings of the devils, and that they come to me. Aisha said: Only a few nights passed before Khalid b. al-Walid came and said: O Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be your ransom, by the One who sent you with truth, I did not complete the words you taught me three times before Allah removed from me what I used to find. I do not care if I enter upon a lion in its den at night.
