حَدَّثَنَا مُفَضَّلُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثَنَا أَبُو حُمَةَ، ثَنَا أَبُو قُرَّةَ، قَالَ: ذَكَرَ زَمْعَةُ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ

عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّهَا قَالَتْ - وَذَكَرَتْ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتَ جَحْشٍ زَوْجَ النَّبِيِّ ﷺ قَالَتْ: وَلَمْ أَكُنْ رَأَيْتُ امْرَأَةً قَطُّ خَيْرًا فِي الدِّينِ مِنْ زَيْنَبَ، أَتْقَى لِلهِ، وَأَصْدَقَ حَدِيثًا، وَأَوْصَلَ لِلرَّحِمِ، وَأَعْظَمَ صَدَقَةً، وَأَشَدَّ ابْتِذَالًا لِنَفْسِهَا فِي الْعَمَلِ الَّذِي يُتَصَدَّقُ بِهِ، وَيُتَقَرَّبُ بِهِ إِلَى اللهِ

✧ From ʿAʾishah that she said, mentioning Zaynab bt. Jahsh, the wife of the Prophet ﷺ: “I have never seen a woman better in religion than Zaynab: more God-fearing, more truthful in speech, more maintaining of kinship ties, greater in charity, and more devoted to exerting herself in work by which she gave charity and sought nearness to Allah.”
