✧ That the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out when the sun had declined, and led them in the noon prayer. When he had said the salam, he stood on the pulpit and mentioned the Hour, and mentioned that before it there would be great matters. Then he said: "Whoever wishes to ask about something, let him ask about it. By Allah, you will not ask me about anything except that I will inform you of it as long as I am in this position of mine." Anas said: The people wept much when they heard that, and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ repeatedly said: "Ask me about whatever you wish." So Abdullah b. Hudhafah al-Sahmi stood up and said: "Who is my father?" He said: "Your father is Hudhafah." When the Messenger of Allah ﷺ repeatedly said: "Ask me," Umar stood up on his knees and said: "O Messenger of Allah, we are pleased with Allah as Lord, with Islam as religion, and with Muhammad as Prophet." So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ fell silent when Umar said that. Then the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "By the One in whose hand is my soul, Paradise and the Fire were shown to me in the width of this wall, and I have never seen a day like today in good and evil."
