✧ When Ramadan drew near, he would say: 'This month of yours has drawn near, and by the oath of Abu al-Qasim ﷺ with which he swore, nothing like it has passed over the Muslims. God writes its reward and its supererogatory acts before it enters, and He writes its burden and its misery before it enters. That is because the believer prepares his spending and his provision for his family, while the wicked prepares for the heedlessness of the Muslims and their private failings. So it is a blessing for the believer and a punishment for the disbelievers.'
