حَدَّثَنَا الْمِقْدَامُ، نَا عَمِّي سَعِيدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، نَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ أَشْرَسَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ:
لَمَّا أُدْخِلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ رَأَيْتُ فِيهَا قَصْرًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ، فَقُلْتُ لِجِبْرِيلَ: لِمَنْ هَذَا الْقَصْرُ ؟ قَالَ: لِرَجُلٍ مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ، فَرَجَوْتُ أَنْ أَكُونَ أَنَا هُوَ، فَقُلْتُ: وَمَنْ هُوَ ؟ فَقَالَ: عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ "، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ لِعُمَرَ، وَقَالَ: " فَلَوْلَا مَا عَلِمْتُ مِنْ غَيْرَتِكَ يَا أَبَا حَفْصٍ لَدَخَلْتُهُ "، فَبَكَى عُمَرُ، وَقَالَ: بِأَبِي وَأُمِّي أَعَلَيْكَ أَغَارُ يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ ؟

✧ When I was taken into Paradise, I saw in it a palace of gold. I said to Jibril: 'For whom is this palace?' He said: 'For a man of Quraysh.' So I hoped that I might be him. I said: 'And who is he?' He said: 'Umar b. al-Khattab.'" Then the Messenger of God ﷺ mentioned that to Umar, and said: 'Were it not for what I know of your jealousy, O Abu Hafs, I would have entered it.' Umar wept and said: 'May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, would I be jealous of you, O Messenger of God?'
