✧ While I was sleeping, I saw myself at a well, and I drew from it as much as Allah willed. Then Ibn Abi Quhafa drew a bucket or two buckets, and in his drawing there was weakness—may Allah forgive him. Then it turned into a large bucket, and Umar b. al-Khattab took it. I have never seen a mighty man among the people draw as he drew, until the people struck their camels' resting place.

  • Qurṭubī

machine translationHis saying "a bucket (dhanūb) or two buckets" is a doubt on the part of one of the narrators. It has come without doubt as "two buckets" in the other narration, and that is better.
