وَبِهِ: حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ وَأَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ: سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ يَقُولُ:

مَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ فَاجْتَنِبُوهُ، وَمَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ فَافْعَلُوا مِنْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ، فَإِنَّمَا أُهْلِكَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ بِكَثْرَةِ مَسَائِلِهِمْ، وَاخْتِلَافِهِمْ عَلَى أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ

Translation

✧ Whatever I forbid you from, avoid it; and whatever I command you to do, do as much of it as you are able. Indeed, those before you were destroyed only because of their excessive questioning and their disagreement with their prophets.
