وَبِهِ: حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِلَالٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ

فِي قَوْلِ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ: وَيَسْتَفْتُونَكَ فِي النِّسَاءِ قُلِ اللهُ يُفْتِيكُمْ فِيهِنَّ وَمَا يُتْلَى عَلَيْكُمْ فِي الْكِتَابِ: إِنَّمَا أُنْزِلَتْ فِي الرَّجُلِ يَكُونُ عِنْدَهُ الْيَتِيمَةُ، يَمْلِكُ أَمْرَهَا، فَلَا يَنْكِحُهَا، وَيَرْغَبُ عَنْهَا، وَيُمْسِكُهَا حَتَّى تَمُوتَ وَيَرِثُهَا

✧ Regarding the words of Allah, Mighty and Majestic: 'They ask you for a ruling concerning women. Say: Allah gives you a ruling concerning them and what is recited to you in the Book'—it was sent down about a man who has an orphan girl under his care, whose affairs he controls; he does not marry her, but desires her and withholds her until she dies, and then he inherits from her.
