وَبِهِ: حَدَّثَنِي اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ: عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ
أَنَّ جَدَّتَهُ خَيْرَةَ امْرَأَةَ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللهِ ﷺ بِحُلِيٍّ لَهَا، فَقَالَتْ: إِنِّي تَصَدَّقْتُ بِهَذَا، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: إِنَّهُ لَا يَجُوزُ لِلْمَرْأَةِ فِي مَالِهَا أَمْرٌ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِ زَوْجِهَا، فَهَلِ اسْتَأْذَنْتِ كَعْبًا ؟ " فَقَالَتْ: نَعَمْ، فَبَعَثَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ إِلَى كَعْبٍ، فَقَالَ: " هَلْ أَذِنْتَ لِلْخَيْرَةِ أَنْ تَصَدَّقَ بِحُلِيِّهَا هَذَا ؟ " قَالَ: نَعَمْ، فَقَبِلَهُ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ مِنْهَا

✧ His grandmother Khayrah, the wife of Ka'b b. Malik, came to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ with some jewelry of hers and said, 'I have given this in charity.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A woman has no authority over her property except with her husband's permission. Did you ask Ka'b?' She said, 'Yes.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent for Ka'b and said, 'Did you give Khayrah permission to give this jewelry of hers in charity?' He said, 'Yes.' So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ accepted it from her.
