✧ The prayer is two rak'ahs at a time, two rak'ahs at a time. You recite the tashahhud in every two rak'ahs, and you humble yourself, show awe, and display neediness. Then you raise your hands—he said: you lift them to your Lord, facing their palms toward your face—and you say: 'O Lord, O Lord.' Whoever does not do that, his prayer is deficient.

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThere is a disagreement in its chain.

  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationWhat al-Layth says is more authentic, because ʿAmr b. al-Ḥārith and Ibn Lahīʿah corroborated al-Layth. ʿAmr and al-Layth used to write, whereas Shuʿbah was a man of memory. I said to my father: Is this chain sound (ṣaḥīḥ) in your view? He said: Good (ḥasan).

    in المعجم الأوسط, p. 8640
  • Abū Ḥatim al-Rāzī

machine translationThe hadith of al-Layth is more authentic, because Anas b. Abī Anas is not known, and ʿAbdullāh b. al-Ḥārith has no meaning here; it is only Rabīʿah b. al-Ḥārith.

    in المعجم الأوسط, p. 8640
