حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذٌ قَالَ: نَا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ يُونُسَ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ قَالَ: ثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ الطَّوِيلُ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ:

جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ﷺ، فَسَأَلَ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ قَالَ: وَحَضَرَتِ الصَّلَاةُ، فَقَامَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ فَصَلَّى، ثُمَّ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ ﷺ: أَيْنَ السَّائِلُ عَنِ السَّاعَةِ ؟ فَقَالَ لَهُ: " مَا أَعْدَدْتَ لَهَا ؟ " قَالَ: مَا أَعْدَدْتُ لَهَا مِنْ كَبِيرِ عَمَلٍ وَلَا صَلَاةٍ إِلَّا أَنِّي أُحِبُّ اللهَ وَرَسُولَهُ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ ﷺ: " الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ " قَالَ أَنَسٌ: " فَمَا رَأَيْتُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ فَرِحُوا بِشَيْءٍ بَعْدَ الْإِسْلَامِ فَرَحَهُمْ بِهِ

Translation

✧ A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and asked about the Hour. He [Anas] said: The prayer was about to begin, so the Prophet ﷺ stood and prayed. Then the Prophet ﷺ said, 'Where is the one who asked about the Hour?' He said to him, 'What have you prepared for it?' He replied, 'I have not prepared for it any great deed or prayer, except that I love Allah and His Messenger.' The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, 'A person will be with those whom he loves.' Anas said, 'I never saw the Muslims rejoice over anything after [the coming of] Islam as much as they rejoiced over this.'
